ILIX Stub Drills 6131 is made to conform with DIN 1987. Made from the finest mix of HSS and Cobalt, ILIX Stub Drills 6131 series are intended to produce higher toughness, hardness and strength in minimizing chatters. In addition, this uncoated model is an affordable alternative in cutting and holemaking of various material. Depends on your machining set up, ILIX Stub Drills are recommended for drilling heat resistant steels, Cr-Ni steels, high carbon steel castings, grey cast iron, cast steels, manganese steels, bronze, aluminium with high percentage silicium and other difficult-to-machine materials. Optimised with tool tip geometry of 130°, ILIX 6131 provides higher tool stability (even in unstable working conditions) and a higher surface quality of the material to be machined. Compared to Jobber drills which are in regular length, ILIX 6131 Screw machine drills (stub drill) are shorter, the screw machine drills stubbier and stiffer with perfectly rounded finish especially for initial holemaking and semi-linear cutting ability. Thanks to its High XT helix designs for steel, the ILIX Stub Drills 2 Flute can withstand the tensile stress up to 1300 N/mm², which is suitable for difficult to work materials. Optimized for both high stability and universal usability, it also offers optimum chip breakage, high centering accuracy and less cutting forces. This ILIX sturdy drill is suitable on toolmaking, jigs, precision hinges, general engineering and many more.
