DeFelsko PosiTest Automatic Adhesion Tester AT-A is an innovative instrument that combines user convenience and repeatability for quality inspection of the adhesion of a coating or several coated samples. This adhesion tester is applicable for any paint product on any surface and automatically assesses the minimum tensile stress needed to conform to international standards including ASTM D4541/D7234, ISO 4624/16276-1, AS/NZS 1580.408.5 and others.
Thanks to its electronically controlled hydraulic pump action, it applies smooth and continuous pull-off pressure that will greatly reduce user effort and the risk of influencing the pulling process. Compared to another method, DeFelsko PosiTest maximizes the tensile stress, as the test is done by securing loading fixtures (dollies) perpendicular to the surface of a coating with an adhesive. Then the DeFelsko PosiTest is attached to the loading fixture and is then aligned to apply tension perpendicular to the test surface. The force that is applied gradually increases and is monitored until a plug of coating is detached, or a previously specified value is reached
Your investment in DeFelsko Automatic Adhesion Tester PosiTest AT-A will allow you to test indoor and outdoor surfaces and in all types of weather. BE advised that after the pull-off test, the dolly and coated surface should also be examined as many National and International standards such as ASTM D4541 and ISO 4624 do require the nature of the fracture to be recorded. DeFelsko PosiTest is applicable to test the ruggedness of coating on concrete, boiler pipes, steel structure, tubings (depending on the curvature and surface uniformity), the durability of painting or protective film, remaining life assessment of coated steel products, and many more.
DeFelsko PosiTest Automatic Adhesion Tester AT-A features:
Measures the force required to pull a specified test diameter of coating away from its substrate using an Electronically controlled hydraulic pump for smooth and continuous pull-off pressure.
Impact and scratch-resistant color touch screen with keypad for operation with or without gloves
Built-in rechargeable battery performs over 200 tests per charge. Continue testing with AC power while the battery recharges.
Environmentally sealed enclosure – weatherproof, dustproof, and shockproof - meets or exceeds IP65
Rubberized, shock-absorbing grips provide a stable, skid-resistant footing
Self-aligning aluminum dolly enables accurate measurements on smooth or uneven surfaces with diameters of 10, 14, 20, or 50 mm that maximize capability and measurement resolution across a wide range of bond strengths.
User-selectable measurement units: psi (pounds per square inch), MPa (Megapascal), Nmm2 (Newtons per millimeter square), or Newton (force)
User-adjustable pull rate, pull limit and hold time with Rotating display for horizontal and vertical use
The pressure system is calibrated and certified to ± 1% accuracy using a NIST traceable load cell
Conforms to international standards including ASTM D4541/D7234, ISO 4624/16276-1, AS/NZS 1580.408.5 and others
Record the results as pass/fail and the nature of fracture - cohesive, adhesive, and glue failures
Wirelessly () connect to your smart device using our free PosiTector App (Apple iOS and Android)
Internal memory stores maximum pull-off pressure, rate of pull, test duration, and dolly size for 100,000 pulls in up to 1,000 batches
