DeFelsko PosiTector 6000 FNDS3 is devised for testing multiple case of thickness on a surface with both ferrous (ex; zinc layer) and non ferrous (ex; acrylic paint layer) reading on a single screen. The fully electronic coating thickness gauges use both magnetic (ferrous) and eddy current (non ferrous) principles to measure coating thickness on layered ferrous and non-ferrous metals, accurately and simultaneously display the individual paint and zinc layer thicknesses.
DeFelsko PosiTector 6000 includes an Advanced body and regular cabled FNDS probe for measuring the individual thicknesses of both the paint and the zinc layers in a duplex coating system with a single reading. this gage offer versatile application in testing the Duplex coating systems of two corrosion protection systems – typically paint or powder coating over galvanized steel (hot-dip, electro or zinc spray metallizing). The resultant corrosion protection is superior to either protection system used independently. welding, cladding or joint quality on boiler pipes, bending scrutiny, corrosion or decompossing of steel frames and many marine equipment fabrication.
On each DeFelsko Positector unit, the main body display and lower body probes can be easily switched for multiple application. The maintenance of DeFelsko unit is practical, you can just simply order a new probes separately for cost effective benefits. This benefits also allows you to have the total scrutiny of non destructive testing package for both indoor or outdoor. If you are looking for advanced interconnectivity and robust application with smartphones, DeFelsko also inoovating the PosiTector Smartlink series with WIFI technology, smartphone software and handheld design.

FNDS Probe on Duplex mode spec:
The magnetic principle is used to measure the combined paint/zinc thickness over the ferrous substrate, and the eddy current principle is used to measure the paint thickness over the non-ferrous zinc coating. The zinc thickness is calculated by subtracting the paint thickness from the combined paint/zinc thickness measurement. |
