Chennai Metco Petrography Cut-Off Grinding Thin GEO is a sturdy cutter and grinder for abrasive sectioning of rocks, ingots, ore, fossil, ceramic and mineral samples to classify the information acquired during the petrographic analysis on specimens with sizes up to 30 microns or less. Powered by a versatile 3 Phase 2 HP servo motor and fine abrasive disc, Chennai Metco Petrography Cut-Off Grinding Thin GEO is suitable for both sectioning and grinding of the layered specimens with gritty properties and rare value. You can have a highly predictive result and repeatable macro-surface quality with proper vice and locking setup. You can ground various levels of thickness thanks to its internal micrometer. Bi-functional cutting and grinding in the same machine give a streamlined advantage of using a compact system for both processes instead of going for two separate machines. The specimen can be secured with a vacuum chuck with a vacuum pump provided by the machine to hold different sizes of glass slides. These glass slides are held onto the chucks and moved across for cutting and grinding. After the careful sectioning stage, detailed analysis of minerals can be further examined by using optical mineralogy, so that the micro-texture and structure can be produced. Furthermore, the coolant can be recirculated through a filtering system which is useful to avoid the blockage of powders onto the coolant. This increases the life of the machine reducing wear and tear, and also improve the surface quality of the specimen. For finer surface preparation then the next step will be grinding and polishing finer abrasive particles with BAINPOL Auto PMV series until the desired surface quality is ready and the microstructure of the specimen can be observed and measured in detail with Vision engineering TIM5 or digital, optical, or electron microscopy.
