The Inspex IPX-103 series are devised to measure the quality inspection of a surface. You can work on various type of ferrous and non ferrous surface within a measuring ranges of Ra-- 0.03µm ~ 6.35µm (1µ inch~250µ inch) - Rz-- 0.2µm ~ 25.3µm (8µ inch~999µ inch). Furthermore, its sturdy metallic case allows the digital surface roughness Tester - R-135 to be versatile enough for laboratory, inspection on outdoor workshop, or wherever on-site surface roughness testing is required.
The measured values can be acquired through hands on application while the indash digital readout calculate the value and display the readings. The 9v battery-powered instrument works with the principle of surface waves on piezoelectric substrates. As the piezoelectric probes / stylus were precisely dragged along the desired surface, the probe will then sense the irregularity and generate micro electricity resulting from pressure on touching the micron cliffs - slopes graduation of surface which accumulates in any solid materials (such as steel, iron, granite, crystals, certain ceramics, and biological matter such as bone in response to applied mechanical stress.
Your investment on CV Instrument Surface Roughness Tester - R-135 will allow you to works better as it also equipped with connectivity through RS-232 to computers or printers. You can also set up an improvised tester jig for application with a digital display through its serial connection cables. Be advised that CV Instrument Surface Roughness Tester R-135 may look similar with the Inspex 103, however, the Inspex IPX-103 model is only able to print the measured data.
