How to Use a Dino-Eye Eyepiece Camera on a Microscope

Here are the steps to use a Dino-Eye Eyepiece Camera on your microscope:

1. Ensuring Microscope Eyepiece Compatibility

To upgrade your conventional microscope to a digital one, you need to check the type of microscope head you currently have. Generally, there are three types of microscope heads available on the market: monocular, binocular, and trinocular.

Next, check the mounting style on your microscope's eyepiece. Ensure your microscope has a detachable eyepiece, allowing for replacement with a Dino-Eye eyepiece camera, possibly using additional adjustments or adapters.

Also identify the diameter of your microscope's eyepiece. Dino-Eye eyepiece cameras usually come with adapters with diameters of 23mm, 30mm, and 30.5mm. If your microscope has a different eyepiece diameter, you may need to purchase a separate adapter.

2. Installing DinoCapture Software

Install the DinoCapture software on your computer. This software allows you to view and record images and videos, and also measure objects through the camera.

3. Mounting the Eyepiece Camera on the Microscope

Before starting, ensure your microscope is turned off. Remove one of your microscope's eyepieces, referring to your microscope's manual if needed. 

Attach the adapter to the Dino-Eye Eyepiece Camera and then insert the camera into the empty eyepiece slot. Securely tighten it. Connect the USB cable from the Dino-Eye Eyepiece Camera to a USB port on your computer.

4. Setting Up the Eyepiece Camera on the Microscope

Switch on your microscope and the Dino-Eye Eyepiece Camera. Open the DinoCapture software you installed previously. 

Adjust the focus knob on your microscope to get a clear view of the specimen. Use the DinoCapture software to take pictures and record videos of your specimen. The software also allows you to measure objects through the camera.
